No presente trabalho foi estudado o efeito do espaçamento inicial sobre a relação entre a densidade de árvores por hectare e o diâmetro médio em povoamentos monoclonais de Eucalyptus saligna Smith. Os dados foram obtidos em povoamentos de densidade completa e altamente estocados, monitorados anualmente em parcelas permanentes até os 18 anos. Para isto, foram testados os modelos de densidade de árvores por hectare pelo diâmetro médio, indicado o modelo de autodesbaste de Tang como o mais preciso, para gerar as estimativas dos valores de densidade, apresentando um coeficiente de determinação ajustado de 0,85, erro padrão da estimativa baixo igual a 0,1026, coeficiente de variação igual a 1,39 %, uma tendência mínima igual a -0,0534 e eficiência elevada igual a 0,3903. O autodesbaste ocorre numa dimensão de diâmetro médio diretamente proporcional à densidade inicial de árvores por hectare do plantio. Quanto maior o espaçamento inicial, maior é o diâmetro médio no momento do início do autodesbaste na população. O coeficiente angular da equação de densidade pelo diâmetro foi igual a 1,0124, divergente do valor indicado para espécies florestais na lei de autodesbaste.

In the present study the effect of initial spacing on relationship between the density of trees per hectare and the average diameter in monoclonal stands of Eucalyptus saligna were investigated. The data used were collected from full stocked stands and highly stored annually, monitored until 18 years old using permanent plots. For that, the density model of trees per hectare by diameter was tested and the self-thinning model of Tang was indicated as the most accurate one and provided great performance statistics, with a coefficient of determination equal to 0.85, lower standard error equal to 0.1026, low coefficient of variation equal to 1.39%, a minimal tendency equal to -0.0534 and high-efficiency equal to 0.3903. The self-thinning occurs in a diameter directly proportional to the initial density of trees per hectare of plantation. As great is the initial spacing greater is the mean diameter in the moment of initiation of self-thinning of the population. The slope of the equation of density and diameter was equal to 1.0124 diverging from the value indicated for forest species in the law of self-thinning.

RESUMO Este trabalho teve por objetivo estudar a relação do diâmetro médio e da área basal no momento do autodesbaste, o crescimento diamétrico e a ocorrência do autodesbaste, o momento de autodesbaste com base na proporção de diâmetro-área basal, a taxa de autodesbaste comparando-a com a lei da potência -3/2 em povoamentos de Pinus taeda L., em vários espaçamentos, manejado em densidade completa. O modelo de Tang foi empregado relacionando o número de árvores por hectare com o diâmetro médio, a partir de dados de parcelas permanentes, medidas anualmente até os 18 anos em experimento de espaçamento. O modelo de autodesbaste mostrou ótima precisão e elevada eficiência, porém, apresentou coeficiente angular de -1,65 com inclinação diferente da preconizada na lei de autodesbaste de -3/2. No momento da ocorrência do autodesbaste, as árvores atingiram diâmetros 14 e 17 cm, nos espaçamento de 2 x 2 e 3 x 2 m, com áreas basais de 38,8 e 47,5 m2/ha, respectivamente. Em todos os espaçamentos a área basal máxima foi de 78 m2/ha, aos 18 anos de idade, apresentando ainda tendência ascendente. Nesses espaçamentos, o quociente do diâmetro pela área basal no momento de ocorrência do autodesbaste foram 0,36 e 0,37, respectivamente.

ABSTRACT This work aimed to study the relationship of the ratio of mean diameter and basal area at the self-thinning moment; the diameter tree growth; the occurrence and moment of self-thinning using the diameter-area proportion and the rate of self-thinning, comparing it to the law of the -3/2 power in stands of Pinus taeda L.. The data was collected from permanent plots experiment installed into a Pinus taeda L. stand and measured annually until 18 years-old with different spacing managed with complete density. The Tang model was used in order to relate the density of trees with the mean diameter. The self-thinning model showed precision and high efficiency. However, it showed a different slope coefficient of -1.65 that stressed from the self-thinning law of -3/2. At the self-thinning moment, the trees reached a diameter of 14 and 17 cm at the space of 2 x 2 and 3 x 3 with basal area of 38.8 and 47.5 m2/ha, respectively. In all spacing the maximum basal area was 78 m2/ha at 18 years old showing upward trend. In that spacing the diameter and basal area ratio at the moment of occurrence of self-thinning was 0.36 and 0.37, respectively.

RESUMO Este trabalho teve por objetivo estudar o quociente do diâmetro pela área basal no momento da ocorrência do autodesbaste em povoamentos de Pinus taeda L., em vários espaçamentos, manejado em densidade completa. Para isso, foi utilizado o modelo Tang, relacionando o número de árvores por hectare com o diâmetro médio, a partir de dados de parcelas permanentes, medidas anualmente até os 18 anos de idade. Os resultados indicam que o modelo de autodesbaste proposto por Tang, apresentou ótima precisão e elevada eficiência, porém, com coeficiente angular preconizado por Tang de (-3/2), tendo resultado um valor de -1,6523. No momento da ocorrência do autodesbaste, as árvores atingiram diâmetros de 14 e 17 cm, nos espaçamentos de 2 x 2 e 3 x 2 m, com áreas basais de 38,8 e 47,5 m² ha-1, respectivamente. ABSTRACT This work undertakes to study de diameter: the basal area ratio at the moment of occurrence of self-thinning of Pinus taeda L. stand in some spacings, considering its full density. For that, the Tang model was used in order to relate the density of trees with the diameter, with data of permanent plots, measured annually until 18 years-old. The results indicate that self-thinning model for Tang presented excellent precision and high efficiency, however with distinct slope coefficient of the praised one for Tang (-3/2) resulting a value of -1.6523. At the moment of occurrence of self-thinning, trees reached diameter equal to 14 and 17 cm, in the spacing of 2 x 2 or 3 x 2 m, with basal area of 38.8 and 47.5 m² ha-1, respectively. In these spacings, the maximal basal area was of 78 m² ha-1, in 18 years-old, rising tendency. RESUMO O presente trabalho foi desenvolvido com o objetivo de estudar a relação do diâmetro e área basal, as zonas de competição, a densidade relativa e o autodesbaste em populações monoclonais de Eucalyptus saligna Smith, com base em 238 parcelas permanentes distribuídas em povoamentos com densidade completa, medidas dos 3 aos 18 anos de idade. Os resultados obtidos permitiram concluir que o modelo de densidade de Tang apresentou uma boa precisão e eficiência. O autodesbaste tem início quando a população atinge um diâmetro médio de 8 cm, quando a densidade foi igual a 0,3446 (34,46 %), com linha do gradiente de 1,5818 (b). O máximo incremento corrente anual em diâmetro ocorreu entre as idades de 14 e 15 anos quando as densidades eram de 12,5 e 25 % caracterizando a zona de crescimento livre de competição entre os indivíduos. A zona de aumento da competição entre as densidades relativas de 25 e 50 % e a zona de iminente mortalidade ocorreu entre as densidades relativas de 50 e 100 %. O modelo permitiu estabelecer em relação à densidade relativa, cinco zonas de concorrência no desenvolvimento da população, definidas por zonas de espaço excessivo, crescimento livre, aumento de competição, estoque completo e iminente mortalidade.

ABSTRACT The present work was developed in order to study the relation among the diameter and the basal area, the competition zones, the relative density, and the self-tinning in Eucalyptus saligna Smith monoclonal stand, with 238 pair’s data basis of permanent sampling by full density stand distribution, observed from 3 to 18 years old. The results obtained allowed to conclude that Tang’s density model was very precise and efficient. The self-thinning begins when the population reaches an average diameter of 8 cm. The relative density was equal 34.46%, with line gradient of 1.5818 (b). The maximum current annual increment in diameter and between the relative densities was observed between the ages of 14 and 15 years when the relative densities were 12.5% and 25%, characterizing a free growth competition zone among the individuals of the population. The zone of increasing competition between the relative densities of 25 and 50% and the imminent mortality zone occurred between the relative densities of 50 and 100%. The density model allowed detecting five competition zones, in the development of the stands, defined by zones of: excessive space, free growth, increase of competition, complete stock and imminent mortality, in relation to the relative density of the population.

RESUMO O presente trabalho foi desenvolvido com o objetivo de estudar a eficiência dos modelos que expressam a relação de densidade/diâmetro e autodesbaste em povoamentos de Pinus taeda L., implantados em vários espaçamentos, manejados em densidade completa, sem desbaste e altamente estocada, medida até a idade de 18 anos. Os resultados indicaram que o modelo de densidade e diâmetro de Tang apresentou boa precisão estatística, tendo apresentado: coeficiente de determinação igual a 0,99; erro padrão da estimativa igual a 0,0948; coeficiente de variação igual a 1,17%; mínima tendência com valor igual a 0,0086; e elevada eficiência, com valor igual a 0,8976. O coeficiente angular da equação de densidade e diâmetro não permitiu comprovar a universalidade da lei do autodesbaste, cujo valor do coeficiente angular é estipulado em -3/2. Com este modelo de densidade e diâmetro foram gerados seis Índices de Densidade do Povoamento (IDP), que variaram de um valor máximo igual a 1.400 até o mínimo de 600, com intervalo de classe de IDP de 200, tendo, como referência, o diâmetro padrão de 25 cm. Os Diagramas de Manejo da Densidade (DMD) da população, elaborados para as variáveis dendrométricas: diâmetro médio, área basal e volume por hectare, por IDP, apresentaram boa eficiência, com baixo erro na estimativa. Os volumes reais por hectare e os estimados no DMD apresentaram diferença absoluta de -7,39 m3ha-1 e relativa de -1,79 %, demonstrando elevada precisão do modelo de DMD. As estimativas volumétricas por hectare do DMD em relação aos valores reais apresentaram valor de Eficiência igual a 0,99, o que indica alta precisão, e valor de χ 2 igual a 0,00034, não significativo a 0,01% de probabilidade, demonstrando que os valores reais e os estimados não diferem estatisticamente entre si.

ABSTRACT This work was developed with the purpose of studying the efficiency of the models which express the density-diameter relationship in stands of Pinus taeda L., implanted in several spacing and handled in unthinning density, and were measured every year until the of 18 age. Results indicated that all of the size- density relationship of Tang model presented good statistical precision, was more efficient than the others, presenting excellent coefficient of determination (0.99), low standard error of estimate (0.0948), low coefficient of variation (1.17%), low bias (0.0086) and high efficiency (0.8976). The slope of the size- density didn’t allow proving the universality of the self-tinning law, with value of this slope is equal -3/2. With help of the size-density model, 6 Indexes of Density of the Stands (IDPs) were generated, with variation from the maximum 1400 to the minimum 600, with interval of class of IDP equal to 200, having as reference the standard diameter of 25 cm. The population’s Density Management Diagram (DMD), elaborated for the dendrometric variables - average diameter, basal area and volume for hectare (by IDP) - presented good efficiency with low mistake in the estimate of the values of these variables. Real volume and estimate volume per hectare in DMD presented an absolute difference of just -7.39 m3ha-1 and a relative difference of -1.79 %, showing a great precision of the DMD model. The estimates volume of DMD per hectare, in relation to the real values, presented a value of efficiency equal to 0.99, what indicates a high precision, and an χ 2 value equal to 0.00034, not significant to 0.01% of probability, demonstrating that the real and the estimate values don't differ statistical amongst themselves.

RESUMO Neste trabalho, estudou-se o crescimento e a produção em povoamento de Pinus echinata Mill. O povoamento foi instalado em 1996 em espaçamento de 3,0 x 2,0 metros, no município de Boqueirão do Leão, no estado do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Para o estudo, foram instaladas seis unidades amostrais, onde foram medidas e abatidas seis árvores de diâmetro médio e de altura dominante para análise de tronco. Os resultados obtidos indicam que a espécie apresenta bom potencial de crescimento em diâmetro, altura e volume. Aos 12 anos de idade, o povoamento apresentou um diâmetro médio de 18,4 cm, altura média de 12,6 m, altura dominante de 14,1 m, área basal de 42,3 m2.ha-1, volume total com casca de 248,2 m3.ha-1 e um incremento médio anual de 20,7 m3.ha-1.ano-1. Tais resultados iniciais indicam que a espécie apresenta potencial de crescimento e produção, podendo ser indicada para cultivo no estado do Rio Grande do Sul.

ABSTRACT In this work, the growth and the yield of a Pinus echinata Mill. stand were studied. The stand was implanted in 1996 in spacing of 3,0 x 2,0 meters, at Boqueirão do Leão, in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. For the study, 6 sample units were installed, and 6 trees of average diameter and dominant height were cut down for trunk analysis. Results indicated that the species presents a good growth in diameter, height and volume. At 12 years-old, the stand presented an average diameter of 18.4 cm, an average height of 12.6 m, a dominant height of 14.1 m, a basal area of 42.3 m2.ha-1, total volume with rind of 248.2 m3.ha-1 and an average annual increment of 20.7 m3.ha-1.yr-1. These initial findings indicate that the species bears a great potential for growth, what enables it to thrive in some regions of Rio Grande do Sul.

RESUMO O presente trabalho foi desenvolvido com o objetivo de estudar a eficiência dos modelos que expressam a relação de densidade e diâmetro em povoamentos de Pinus taeda L. manejados em densidade completa e altamente estocados. Para isso, foram ajustados os modelos de Reineke, Yoda, Zeide e Tang, que relacionam a densidade de árvores por hectare com o diâmetro médio, por meio de dados originados de cinqüenta parcelas permanentes, medidas anualmente até os 18 anos, implantadas em espaçamento de 1,5x1,0 e 2,0x1,0 m e mantidas em densidade completa. Os resultados indicam que todos os modelos de densidade e diâmetro e autodesbaste apresentaram boa precisão estatística, porém o modelo de Tang foi mais eficiente que os demais na estimativa dos valores de densidade de árvores por hectare por diâmetro médio, tendo apresentado ótimo coeficiente de determinação igual a 0,99, baixo erro padrão da estimativa igual a 0,0948, baixo coeficiente de variação igual a 1,17 %, mínima tendência com valor igual a 0,0086, elevada eficiência com valor igual a 0,8976, boa distribuição dos resíduos do número de árvores por hectare em função do diâmetro médio do povoamento.

ABSTRACT This work was developed with the purpose of studying the efficiency of the models which express the density-diameter relationship in stands of Pinus taeda L., handled in full and highly stocked density. For that, Reineke, Yoda, Zeide and Tang models were adjusted. Such models relate the density of trees per hectare, considering the average diameter through data originated from 50 permanent portions, measured every year until the age of 18, implanted in spacing of 1.5x1.0 and 2.0x1.0 meters and kept in full density. Results indicate that all density and diameter models and self-thinning presented good statistical precision; however, the Tang model was more efficient than the others, presenting excellent coefficient of determination (0.99), low standard error of the estimative (0.0948), low variation coefficient (1.17%), low trend (0.0086) and high efficiency (0.8976), in the estimate of the values of density of trees per hectare for medium diameter, with in good residual distribution of the number of trees per hectare in function of the average diameter of the stand.

RESUMO Este trabalho teve como objetivo estimar os parâmetros da função de densidade probabilística de Weibull para povoamentos desbastados de Pinus taeda, com finalidade de prognosticar as freqüências por unidade de área e classe diamétrica. Os parâmetros foram calculados por regressão aninhada tendo como variáveis independentes a densidade populacional, sítio e idade. O ajuste das funções de densidade probabilística das freqüências por classe diamétrica, no primeiro e segundo desbaste, e no corte raso, apresentou excelente precisão estatística, com boas estimativas de valores da densidade populacional por classe diamétrica. A densidade probabilística e absoluta estimados por classe de diâmetro, para situações distintas de densidades e idade da população, mostrou excelente precisão, com valores estimados muito próximos dos observados.

ABSTRACT This work was accomplished with the objective of predicting the parameters of probabilistic density function for thinning stands of Pinus taeda, in the south of Brazil, with the purpose of obtaining the prognosis of the frequencies per unit of area by diameter class. The parameter from Weibull function was estimate through nested regressions with independent variables that express the density of population. Results of the adjustment of the probabilistic density function of the frequencies per diameter class, in the first and second thinning, and cut, presented an excellent statistical precision, with good estimates of values and population density per diameter class. The values prognostic of the probabilistic density per diameter class, considering situations different density and age from the population, showed an excellent precision, with values close to those ones observed.

Abstract This research had the objectives to determinate the growth in diameter, commercial volume, current annual increment in percentage of the commercial volume and the commercial form factor for Cordia trichotoma (Vell.) Arrab. Ex Steud., in the central area of the Rio Grande do Sul State. Backman´s equation was more efficient, being selected for the adjust of the current annual increment in percentage of the commercial form factor as function of DBH. The commercial form factor variation ranged from 0.51 at 15 years of age, to a maximum value of 0.80 at 90 years old. The current annual increment in percentage of the commercial volume varied from 25.90 to 2.22 %, obtained at 15 and 90 years old, respectively.

Resumo Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo determinar o crescimento em diâmetro, volume comercial, incremento corrente anual em percentagem do volume comercial e o fator de forma comercial para Cordia trichotoma (Vell.) Arrab. Ex Steud., na área central do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. A equação de Backman foi mais eficiente, sendo selecionada para o ajuste do incremento corrente anual em percentagem do volume comercial e o fator de forma comercial, em função do DAP. O fator de forma comercial variou desde 0,51 aos 15 anos de idade, até um valor máximo de 0,80 aos 90 anos. O incremento corrente anual em percentagem do volume comercial variou de 25,90 a 2,22% dos 15 aos 90 anos de idade, respectivamente.

RESUMO Este trabalho foi realizado com o objetivo de estimar o estoque de carbono em povoamentos equiâneos de Acacia mearnsii De Wild., na região da Encosta Inferior do Sudeste, no Rio Grande do Sul, com o método de derivação do volume em biomassa e carbono. As quantificações dos componentes da biomassa e do carbono foram feitas em povoamentos com idade entre 4 e 8 anos. O método de derivação do volume em biomassa e carbono mostrou-se eficiente na determinação do estoque de carbono, pois a diferença relativa média foi de apenas 4,4%, quando considerada toda a amostragem e independência da idade dos povoamentos. A densidade básica média da madeira foi de 0,6, independente da idade dos povoamentos. A proporção de biomassa média entre o volume com casca pelo volume de folhas, ramos, serrapilheira e raízes foram de 0,59, independente da idade dos povoamentos. A concentração média de carbono, independente da idade dos povoamentos, foi igual a 0,40. O estoque de carbono estimado pelo método de derivação de volume e carbono, em povoamentos de 7 anos de idade, foi de 99,46 t ha-1 no índice de sítio 20, 82,98 t ha-1 no índice de sítio 16, e 46,13 t ha-1 no índice de sítio 12.

ABSTRACT This work was carried out to estimate the carbon storage in even-aged stands of Acacia mearnsii De Wild., in the region of the Southeast Lower Hillside, in Rio Grande do Sul, by the method of derivation of volume and carbon. The biomass components and carbon content were measured in stands 4 to 8-year-old. The method of derivation of volume and carbon was efficient to determine the carbon storage, since the average relative difference was only 4.4%, when considering the whole sample, and independent from stands age. The mean wood basic density found was 0.6 g/cm3, regardless of stand age. The mean biomass ratio of the barked-volume to the volume of leaves, branches, litter, and roots was found to be 0.59, independent of stand age. The mean carbon concentration, regardless stand age, was 0.40. The estimated carbon storage by the method of volume and carbon derivation, for 7-year-old stands, was 99.46 t ha-1, in site index 20; 82.89 t ha-1, in site index 16; and 46.13 t ha-1, in site index 12.

RESUMO A mortalidade de povoamentos de Acacia mearnsii De Wild. foi estudada tomando por base parcelas permanentes estratificadas em diferentes espaçamentos e sítios. Os resultados permitiram concluir que a probabilidade de mortalidade (PM) pode ser estimada por meio de uma função probabilística em relação ao inverso do diâmetro à altura do peito (d) e da idade (t): PM = {1+ EXP (-9,5593 . d-1 + 104,9543 . t-1)}-1. Mediante a correlação de Pearson, verificou-se uma alta associação entre a taxa de mortalidade com a idade, diâmetro médio, altura média, altura dominante, área basal, volume e espaço vital. Constatou-se que a mortalidade está diretamente relacionada com a idade, qualidade do sítio e espaço vital em determinada fase de crescimento das árvores no povoamento.

ABSTRACT The mortality probability of the Acacia mearnsii De Wild. stands was studied in permanent sample stratified at different spacings and site. The results allowed to conclude that the mortality can estimated with a probabilistic function in relation with the inverse of the diameter at breast height (d) and age (t): PM = {1+ EXP (-9,5593 . d-1 + 104,9543 . t-1)}-1. By the Pearson correlation of the mortality rate it was verified a high association with age, average diameter, average height, dominant height, basal area, volume and vital spacing. It was verified that the mortality is directly related to age, site quality and vital spacing in some periods of growth of the trees in the stand.

RESUMO Este trabalho teve como objetivos estudar o crescimento em diâmetro, volume comercial, incremento corrente anual em percentagem do volume comercial e a determinação do fator de forma comercial para o louro-pardo, Cordia trichotoma (Vell.) Arrab. ex Steud., na região da Depressão Central do estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Para o ajuste dos dados de crescimento em diâmetro e volume comercial sem casca foram testadas três equações matemáticas, sendo que a equação de Backman resultou como modelo mais eficiente, ajustado em função da idade das árvores. Essa equação também foi selecionada para o ajuste do incremento corrente anual em percentagem do volume comercial, ajustada em função do diâmetro à altura do peito (DAP). Para o ajuste do fator de forma comercial a melhor equação foi a quadrática, sendo os valores determinados em função do DAP para facilitar a aplicação prática. O fator de forma comercial variou desde 0,34 para um DAP de 7 cm até um valor máximo de 0,78 para um DAP de 37,1 cm, entre as idades de 20 e 88 anos, respectivamente. O incremento corrente anual em percentagem do volume comercial variou de 18,05% aos 20 anos a 2,22% aos 88 anos de idade.

ABSTRACT This work had as objectives the study of the growth in DBH, commercial volume, average of annual increment in percentage of the commercial volume and the determination of the commercial form factor for Cordia trichotoma (Vell.) Arrab. ex steud., in the Central Depression of the Rio Grande do Sul State. The growth data were tested with three mathematical equations, for the adjustment of diameter and commercial volume without bark. The Backman equation resulted as the most efficient model, adjusted in function of the age of the trees. This equation also was selected for the adjustment of the average annual increment in percentage of the commercial volume, adjusted in function of DBH. For the commercial form factor the best equation was the quadratic and the values were determined in function of the DBH to facilitate the practical application. The commercial form factor varied from 0,34 for a DBH of 7 cm to a maximum value of 0,78 for a DBH around 37,1 cm, at the ages of 20 and 88 years respectively. The current annual increment in percentage of the commercial volume varied from 18,05% for 20 years to 2,22% for 88 years of age.

RESUMO Neste trabalho foi utilizada a técnica da dendrocronologia, desenvolvida pelo arqueólogo americano Andrew Douglass, em 1920, e o auxílio do aparelho LINTAB II, para analisar a espécie Tabebuia impetiginosa e avaliar as tendências de crescimento em diâmetro, volume comercial, incremento corrente anual em percentagem do volume comercial, bem como o fator de forma comercial. Para isso, foi selecionada a função de Backman para o diâmetro e volume comercial em razão da idade, tendo obtido, para ambas, um excelente ajuste. Também, foi ajustada a mesma equação para as variáveis volume comercial, fator de forma comercial e incremento corrente anual percentual em volume comercial em razão do diâmetro, conseguindo igualmente um excelente ajuste. O incremento corrente anual percentual em volume comercial variou de 54,02%, com, 7 anos a 11,26%, aos 21 anos. Já o fator de forma comercial, foi 0,7 para diâmetros entre 5,2 cm e 30,0 cm, nas idades de 7 e 21 anos.

ABSTRACT In the present study a dendrocronological approach developed by the American archae logist Andrew Douglas in 1920 was used to analyze the species Tabebuia impetiginosa and to evaluate the growth tendencies in diameter, commercial volume, percentual annual current increment in commercial volume as well as the commercial form factor. Backman´s function was adjusted to diameter and commercial volume considering the age, obtaining for both an excellent adjustment. Backman´s function was also adjusted for commercial volume, commercial form factor and the percentual annual current increment due to the diameter, obtaining a comparable excellent adjustment. The percentual annual current increment in commercial volume varied from 54,02 % with 7 years to 11,26 % at the age of 21 years. Commercial form factor was 0,7 between diameters of 5,2 and 30,0 cm at the ages of 7 and 21 years, respectively.

RESUMO No presente trabalho foi estudada a emergência e sobrevivência à campo da Dodonaea viscosa (L.) Jacq. O delineamento estatístico utilizado foi o de blocos ao acaso com 3 repetições e 2 tratamentos, definidos como plantio com mudas e semeadura direta à campo. Os resultados demostraram que não existe diferença significativa entre a sobrevivência de plantas do sistema de implantação com mudas e semeadura direta à campo. A sobrevivência das plantas em plantio com mudas foi de 88 % e em semeadura direta à campo de 76 %, resultando uma diferença absoluta de 12 % entre as duas formas de implantação de povoamentos da espécie.

ABSTRACT In this study was measured emergency and seedling surviving of Dodonaea viscosa (L.) Jacq. direct in the field. The experiment design used was complete block with three replication and two treatments: seedling planting and direct seeding. The results showed no significant difference of emergency between two plant population implantation methods. The plant surviving for seedling planting was 88% whereas for direct seedling was 76%, obtaining 12% of abslute difference between the two implantion methods.
